Hello Everyone!
Let me introduce myself; Camille Dg, founder of The Booklet web site. I’m delighted to write an article for the first time for BALNEA’s blog. Let’s make ourselves comfortable and get to know each other! I’ve been working for the web for more than 10 years, and I have the chance to test, discover and enjoy different lifestyle experiences. I know BALNEA very well and have witnessed how it has evolved over the years. I can still remember a time when the Beach Club was much smaller and when there were no installations at the bottom of the hill. When I’m asked to find a spa to spend a day, I always choose BALNEA. I love to leave Montreal and head out into the forest to this little corner of paradise where time seems to stand still between the silence and the revitalizing moments.
Yoga on the Lake: A Great way to start the day
Last August, I was lucky enough to spend a day at the reserve, accompanied by my friend Fauve, to celebrate the end of her maternity leave. What new activity did we try this time? SUP Yoga (on a paddleboard). It’s no secret, I’m not a great fan of yoga. I find this activity is too slow paced for me. I prefer action sports, so, because I love paddle boarding, I wanted to try this combination. Our yoga instructor welcomed us with a warm smile and an open mind about my reluctance concerning yoga. She decided to offer us a relaxing class, of course, but also a fun moment, leaving all seriousness on the shore.
Thanks to the advice she gave me, her attentiveness and her playful disposition, I was able to remain stable on my board while taking yoga positions I never thought possible. SUP yoga allows you to improve your practice by challenging your ability to balance yourself, because you often fall (quite easily) in the water. I loved meeting this challenge in such a marvellous setting.
Finding Therapists Who Listen to Their Clients: What a Difference!
After this original activity (the way I like them), Fauve and I offered ourselves a replenishing moment with a massage for me and a facial for her. I chose a massage because I know that at BALNEA, the massage therapists are able to answer all our needs. I always ask for a sports massage; Even though it’s not as relaxing, it really helps my muscles. Once again, I was amazed to see how my therapist was able to recognize my weak areas and work on them. As for my friend, she told me, after her care, that it was the best she had ever had! She appreciated all the special little gestures and the scalp massages; she felt she was completely taken charge of during the entire hour of her treatment.
After this full but so rejuvenating morning, we had a fine lunch, took advantage of all the installations and walked through the site. With the snap of a finger, our day was over!

Finally, here are three tips to really benefit from the BALNEA experience:
—Arrive early because the day goes by so fast!
—Reserve your care in advance or as soon as you arrive.
—Take some time to enjoy a nap or to read a book in the Naturephone, it’s a space we easily forget, but one that is well worth discovering.
